Thanks for the recognition ESPN, your coverage of this year’s champions should get a gold star, in fact, give yourself an ESPY since they carry so much weight.Īs for the fans finally coming around, Joker is the best player in the game and everyone knows it, a surreal time to be a Nuggets fan. But now fans voting on ESPN’s website have finally deemed Jokic the NBA’s best player and we’re supposed to care what ESPN thinks. So the narrative ESPN pushed impacted not just Jokic’s chances at an MVP and furthering his legacy but it actually impacted the way the Nuggets played out the season’s final days. “Champion your horse but the knocking this year, it pissed me off and I wouldn’t be surprised if it got to him too.” But he got attacked every night,” Malone said after the Western Conference Finals. the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Joki starting with Game 1 on Tuesday. I don’t know that it did, and I haven’t talked to him about it. ESPN platforms will exclusively televise the 2023 NBA Western Conference. “I think the negativity around the MVP race got to Jokic. The Disney-owned network employs the only voter who left Jokic off their ballot, an embarrassing slight from the same folks who aired race-baiting commentary from another personality which Nuggets coach Michael Malone said shifted Denver’s care in the MVP race. For Jokic’s money, he didn’t really care about the award but seemingly ESPN’s hype factory didn’t care about the Joker. Yet Jokic lost out on a third MVP to Joel Embiid by a wide margarin despite leading the race for much of the season and the 76ers’ star’s spring duck of Denver. Jokic scored 30 a game, grabbed 13.5 rebounds and dished 9.5 helpers while shooting 55% from the field in the postseason. He did all this en route to his first title, where the Nuggets went 16-4 in knocking off the Wolves, Suns, Lakers and Heat. Jokic led the league in Player Efficiency Rating, Win Shares, Box Plus-Minus and Value Over Replacement Player. In 69 games Jokic scored 24.5 points, grabbed 11.8 rebounds and threw 9.8 assists per contest while going for an NBA-best 70% true shooting. Not that he cares about this stuff anyway. Maybe the ESPY will get the mantle near all the Player of the Week awards, maybe it’ll even get the shelf near the Player of the Months. Jokic will surely stack the ESPY in a nice spot near his Larry O’Brien, Bill Russell Finals MVP and two Michael Jordan MVPs. I saw some videos with A4 TB change and I saw that mechanics slowly compress this tensioner for reuse before removing TB belt. That tab on roller - is it normal that I can rise it higher just by pulling it with my finger or it shouldn't move at all? On my cars engine there is a decent gap (looks like 6 mm) when my engine is running, that gap reduces in 1-2 minutes after the engine stops (yesterday that gap was: 0 mm, today: 3 mm). I just ordered updated INA 530054610 kit, I regret that I did not research about that updated version before my current water pump change :(īut for now I still drive the car and I would like to know how that hydraulic tensioner should function properly? Should it retain this 6-8 mm gap all the time? gap was like 12-13 mm with the belt on and when we cranked the engine by hand few times it became ~8 mm. However one thing was not completed as it should: the tensioner was not compressed before putting the belt back. A class action lawsuit accusing Volkswagen (VW) and its subsidiary Audi of manufacturing vehicles with an allegedly defective yet concealed engine parta timing chainwill move forward, according to an order filed by US District Judge Kevin McNulty. He just loosened that pulley, removed tensioner bearing and removed the belt only from crankshaft and the pump. My mechanic left old timing belt on, tensioner was not removed. I noticed that after leaking water pump change (I am not sure how it was behaving before work, as I just measured it on cold and it was 8 mm). Tensioners are available in both mechanical. Is it normal tensioner and pulley behavior? The tensioner exists to provide the proper tension against the timing belt and the components it revolves around. Timing belt tension is good, belt is not loose. And one point which is worrying me that I can pull that pulley tab up by finger and rise up to 8-11 mm, however I can't compress it back (it comes back to 6 mm by itself after some time though). It is like 2-3 mm after driving on hot engine and after I crank the engine it returns to like 5-6 mm. Should it remain constant 6-8 mm all the time? I am asking this, because that gap is changing on my car. I would like to ask about that gap between TB tensioner and tensioner pulley tab. Get a nice hard nut from the hardware sstor before you set it and forget it. Mark the belt at tdc and check the time before you turn it. Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley The timing belt ensures that the valves work correctly the tensioner and pulleys both work to keep this belt tight and. turn it by hand a bunch if times before you start it. I suspect the piston has forced its way out more. 10mm is a good place to set it as long as its tight. It fell off into the timing belt and that was that. A fellow az'r lost his tension and completely destroyed his motor when he reused the tensioner nut. The oem nut is soft and not at all suitable for a second use. It is important that you have the correct tools for this job so take a look above to see what you need. Should I take it that the 8mm spec is for a new belt that hasn't stretched yet, or should I readjust the tensioner to 8mm? Thanks!Make sure you use a brand new nut with some red loctite. This guide will show you how to replace your timing belt and water pump on a B5 generation Audi A4 with the 2.8L V6 engine. I can only assume this is due to several hours' stretch on the new belt. When I got up this morning, the gap was 10mm. I set the gap at 8mm and torqued the nut to spec. Last thing I did before bed last night was install and tension the belt. Halfway through the timing belt & WP job. found, using intracardiac septal mapping, that conduction block within the left‐sided His fibers or proximal portion of the left bundle branch was present in 64% of patients with a 12‐lead ECG appearance of LBBB. The 12‐lead ECG is an imperfect tool for identifying the mechanism of conduction impairment. HBP is most likely to deliver ventricular resynchronization in patients with proximal conduction system disease. However, it does not appear to be possible to shorten ventricular activation time in all patients with 12‐lead ECG features of LBBB. His‐CRT can produce greater QRS duration (QRSd) shortening and LVAT reduction than BVP, which translate to larger improvements in acute hemodynamic function. His‐cardiac resynchronization therapy (His‐CRT) resynchronizes ventricular activation by overcoming proximal conduction system block, thereby activating the ventricles via the native His‐Purkinje system. His bundle pacing (HBP) has recently been proposed as a method for delivering more effective ventricular resynchronization than BVP. In fact, it produces only relatively modest reductions in ventricular activation time and results in nonphysiological ventricular activation patterns.Īs a result, there has been interest in the development of more effective CRT. However, BVP does not completely correct the disordered ventricular activation that occurs with LBBB. However, many patients treated with BVP continue to experience high symptom burdens and poor prognoses.īVP is thought to produce its beneficial effect by delivering more synchronous ventricular activation and shortening atrioventricular interval. Biventricular pacing (BVP) is the most widely used method for delivering CRT and has been shown to improve symptoms, clinical outcomes, and mortality. The aim of cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is to correct this abnormality of electrical activation to improve cardiac function in patients with heart failure and LBBB. The pulley is quiet when operating and is economical and simple to replace, as well as providing an effective grip. Vee belts pulleys contain a V-shaped grove for the belt to sit in, this provides traction and avoids slipping belts.Where might I use a Wedge/ Vee Belt Pulley?Vee belt pulleys are typically used in the industrial and automotive sectors, as they offer advantages when compared to other methods of transmission. This design makes them strong, heat resistant and durable, and also ensures a noiseless output.Wedge & Vee Belt PulleysA Vee belt pulley is a wheel mechanism that transfers power between the shaft and a Vee belt. This not only enables the driving motion of the system but helps to avoid speed variations and slippage, meaning you can more easily maintain and control the speed of your machine.Timing belt pulleys come in a range of materials including aluminium, steel and iron. Both cause frictional forces between the flat belt and the pulley surface. The timing teeth engage holes in the timing belt, while timing pockets engage drive lugs (fasteners) on a belt's inner circumference. Common applications include vehicles, printers and manufacturing equipment. How do timing belt pulleys work?Timing belt pulleys have either teeth or pockets around the outside diameter. They are used to maximise power transmission through your machinery. Rather than being an oversimplification, Domokos’ method of calculating averages is insightful, said the mathematician Marjorie Senechal of Smith College, who reviewed the new study. And on average, it still plots to a point at (3, 6) in the symbolic plane. But messy as it may be, a honeycomb is still, on average, a honeycomb. The second was the average number of polygons surrounding each vertex.īut most natural mosaics, from rock cracks to molecular monolayers, are not perfectly periodic tessellations.įor example, the cells of a real wax honeycomb are not all perfect hexagons. The first was the average number of vertices, or corners, per polygon. Then, following Domokos’ approach, she calculated two numbers for each pattern. To get started, Regős treated the 2D materials as simple polygonal tessellations - patterns that fit together with no gaps and infinitely repeat. Domokos wanted to see if Regős could use the geometry that he had originally developed to describe geological fractures to characterize the patterns in Decurtins’ images. Decurtins had sent a handful of images depicting patterns at an atomic scale - tilings of a molecule that had been designed and synthesized by his colleague Shi-Xia Liu - viewed through the eye of a powerful microscope. And this is very relaxing.” From Planets to AtomsĪfter Decurtins got in touch, Domokos tried to sell the idea to Krisztina Regős, his graduate student. And now they are just looking at formulas. “They were doing artificial intelligence, supercomputing and all this kind of jazz. “At first, they did not believe that you can do it,” Domokos said. Over the next year, Domokos and his colleagues used geometric thinking to unpack the rules of molecular self-assembly - devising a new way to constrain the mosaics that molecules can form, using only the simple geometry of tessellation. Decurtins wondered if the same geometry that describes how planets fracture could explain how molecules assemble. So Decurtins got in touch with Gábor Domokos, the study’s first author, a mathematician at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Forecasting self-assembly is a job for supercomputers, and the heavyweight programs required can take days or weeks to run. That’s because nature has not been especially forthcoming with her molecular design philosophy. Predicting how molecules self-assemble into 2D sheets is one of the grand challenges of materials science, said Johannes Barth, a physicist at the Technical University of Munich. So many scientists, including Decurtins and his colleagues, want to design materials that assemble themselves. It’s possible to build these 2D materials atom by atom, but doing so is expensive, difficult and time-consuming. And patterns that contain metal ions can be powerful catalysts. These 2D materials can have peculiar and practical properties that depend on how their molecular building blocks are arranged.įor example, it’s possible to arrange molecules into 2D patterns that use electrons as computational bits or to store data. “It’s just a matter of scale.”ĭecurtins’ patterns weren’t formed by cracks in the earth, but by molecules: they were mosaic-like tilings of molecules in sheets just one molecule thick. Decurtins, a chemist at the University of Bern, was reminded of the materials he had been studying. It wasn’t the unusual title that caught his eye, but the pictures on the third page - geological patterns at every scale from cracked permafrost to Earth’s tectonic plates. On a Saturday afternoon in the fall of 2021, Silvio Decurtins was leafing through a paper with a title that could have been pulled from a comic book for mathematically inclined teens: “Plato’s Cube and the Natural Geometry of Fragmentation.” Robbery (7.1%), burglary (7.1%), and larceny (2.7%) rates declined. Compared to 2016 figures, there were higher incidences of murder (17.3%), rape (3.6%), aggravated assault (3.6%), and motor vehicle theft (5.9%) in 2017. In 2017, there were 64,934 crimes in Broward County with 7,543 of them falling under violent crimes with the rest 57,391 incidents being property crimes.Ī breakdown of crime data for Broward County shows that there were 95 murders, 579 rapes, 2,522 robberies, 4,347 aggravated assaults, 8,186 burglaries, 43,250 larcenies, and 5,955 motor vehicle thefts in 2017. This represents a small drop of 2.4% compared to the arrest figure for the previous year.
